Although the deal hasn’t been closed as of yet, it seems Beats Audio is getting closer to purchasing MOG, a paid subscription online music service. Since HTC has invested $300 million into Beats, making the Taiwanese phone giant Beat’s major owner, we might just see the music service on HTC’s handsets such as the Sensation XE, Sensation XL, and One X.
MOG is considered one of the best music services for mobiles. However, it seems other services such as Spotify has been basking more in the limelight. With Beats and HTC presumably in the picture, we may just see MOG getting the much needed attention it deserves.
If ever MOG does make it to HTC handsets, what will it do for the Taiwanese firm’s devices. Beats Audio and Dropbox, an online storage service, already offers something exclusive to HTC users. By making MOG another HTC exclusive, HTC’s handsets will further set itself apart from the rest, giving the Taiwanese firm a much needed boost it lost to rival phone manufacturers such as Samsung and Apple.
The question is, will MOG make it to HTC handsets? Aside from investing in Beats Audio, HTC first invested in Saffron Digital, which is why HTC users enjoy the movie streaming service HTC Watch. So it’s possible HTC may do the same with MOG.
